Hattie's Breakfast

Just as we're all tucking into our Saturday morning breakfasts, I thought I'd share these. I was finishing an edit yesterday of a shoot we did with our friend's three little girls. I loved this little progression of shots with Hattie, she's the middle sister. As you can see, Hattie likes her weetabix. In fact, it's the perfect breakfast for a little super hero...

Alice's First Steps.

My Mum loves to tell the story of when I started walking, at the ripe old age of two and a bit. Before I was upwardly mobile, I had refined the art of shuffling around on my posterior to get from a to b. When my sister came along four years later, she had a pile of hand-me-downs, all a little threadbare around the bottom. A little concerned about me not standing on my own two feet, my Mum took me to the doctor, who declared 'oh there's nothing wrong with her, she's just lazy'. That's the bit my Mum loves retelling...

Not so for Alice! We've been documenting her life for the past nine months. The week before our last shoot, Alice had taken her first tentative steps at home, and she was pretty happy about it! We took a trip up to a meadow above Hebden Bridge one sunny Sunday with Alice, Archie, Jane & Carolynne. It felt pretty special to be capturing this chapter in her life, and all at the tender age of one...

Stories Of The Everyday - Finlay & Emilia

Hooray for Sundays. Lie ins, breakfast in bed and The Archers for some. Family and friend days, the smell of a roast cooking in the oven (bringing back memories of family lunches gone by). Chats about the week past and the week to come. Walks together whatever the weather, red cheeks and toes warming by the fire. A day for gathering thoughts, for reflection.

A couple of weekends ago we spent a super Sunday afternoon with Finlay & Emilia. It was a little wild outside, so we stayed warm and cosy inside, keeping an eye on the weather as there had been talk of snow.

And if these two ever challenge you to a game of dominoes, politely decline - they will win!
