George - A Day In The Life

I'm thinking that this blog should come with a cute warning. This little chap has the big baby blues, and just look at those cheeks!

Last autumn, we ran a competition to win one of our 'Day In The Life' shoots. We pulled Nicky's name from my flat cap (I really do have one!). We actually know Nicky & her husband Ben as we photographed their wedding back in 2012. So it was lovely to catch up with them and document family life for them now, with George making a starring role.

With no further ado, here he is!

I also made a film of my time with George, Nicky & Ben. I can't tell you how much I'm enjoying making these!

If you've been thinking about booking a 'Day In The Life' shoot with us, we'd love to hear from you. We've also got a new Films page on the website if you'd like to take a look.

The Leaf Kicking Blackberry Pickers

'And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you, because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely place. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.'

There's something so magical about Hardcastle Crags, we're lucky to have it on our doorstep. On this shoot, everything aligned. The light, the trees, the colours, the perfect backdrop for our young adventurers. This is the tale of two sisters...

As some of you know, we've started adding film into our portrait work too.  Details of this new package will be on our website shortly.  Here's a short one we made at the end of this session. We're looking forward to making more of these next year x

Stories of the Everyday - Harry & Lottie

I'm always fascinated by landscapes that give people their sense of place. For me, since the age of 10, it's been the drive from Oxenhope, over the moors to Hebden Bridge, and the first glimpses of Stoodley Pike and Heptonstall church.

For Rachel & Ben, it's the moors above Hebden Bridge, towards Widdop. This is where Ben proposed to Rachel - what an amazing place to pop that question! This place is obviously special to them, it's easy to see why, and this was the location they chose for their family photo shoot. With a picnic and bikes, we headed for the moors.

Sometimes we'll suggest locations for shoots, but this backdrop was always going to be the one for Rachel, Ben, Harry & Lottie.
