In early 2012 I was lucky enough to mix my love for the outdoors with inspiring others about photography by hosting tutorials at the National Trust's Hardcastle Crags, Gibson Mill. As featured on the BBC Activity website, off we went into the woodland. I helped the group to learn about imagery and how to take a picture that they could be proud of - enhanced by amazing surroundings. These have thankfully been successful and have resulted in more tutorials organised at Hardcastle Crags and now Marsden Moor too! Clicking With Your Camera
This course is ideal for beginners in digital photography and those who want to learn how to get the most out of their camera, whether it's a compact or DSLR.
We'll tackle that by getting to grips with exposure and what it all means, including looking at composition that will help to make your photos stand out from the crowd. As we're working through these essential photography points I will help you develop your natural "eye" and within no time you'll begin to see things in a very different way.

Eagle Eye
Quite often, a special moment within life happens - and we've missed it. If you wish your family snaps could be a little more refined, this package will help by exploring and discussing various techniques, natural light and composition.
Ideal for:
- Establishing what your photography aim is (family, landscape, products, etc)
- Exploring different techniques and how to get the best light and composition to enhance what you're trying to achieve
- Discussing various tips to help you get that all-important photo as it happens
- A short introduction to post-production
- Helpful hints on how to present your fabulous photos
Each course starts with a quick introduction at my office where we'll have a short chat about the session over a cuppa. Then we'll head out on location in and around Hebden Bridge (if there's a place special to you we can discuss this beforehand).
Afterwards, we'll come back to my office and download your images to see what you've captured. This allows me to give you a short introduction to some post-production techniques and tips on how to best present your images. Both are either half or full day courses and can be purchased as a gift for a special someone, organised as a corporate day out or perhaps a group outing.
