I love capturing the essence of what drives you to do what you do

I have a desire to get to the real heart of things, and to tell stories that ring true.

The rhythms and the rituals, the crafts and the objects.

The feeling of home.

I love working with other artists and makers

I like to document creative businesses in their day to day life and work with people who make things with passion. I’m happy making films and taking photographs of you in your workplace, or dreaming up new and unusual settings for your products.

My work is informed by five values which are woven throughout my process.

CURIOURISTY

I am endlessly curious about people - who they are, how they have ended up where they are, and what makes them tick. I see my role as peeling back the layers, and uncovering something true, and perhaps unexpected, at the centre.

CONNECTION

In all our individual stories there are pieces of common ground that link us to each other. And it’s these that I try to find - both with myself, and as a way to bring in the audience, so that they feel let into and immersed in your story.

COLLABORATION

I want to create something original as a response to your work. My creativity follows your creativity, and it’s this partnership that makes something truly unique and creative. I want us to work together to create something we can both be immensely proud of.

COMPELLING STORY

I’m always looking for the story, because I really believe that we all have one, and that knowing it is how we feel like we have a place in this world. And then I work to build it out, to give it substance and make it truly compelling.

CREATIVITY

There is no formula to what I create, and every film is totally unique. I also work with other creatives, as necessary, to utilise their skills in bringing your story to life. I want to create a piece of work that stands up on its own merits as a creative piece of work.

recent films

I created this film with Travelling Bookbinder and paper artist, Rachel Hazell, about the landscape around her that sparks her inspiration for her work and her workshops.

I made this film for Paul, a.k.a. The Yorkshire Gourmet. It evolved from being more than just a film about food, into a film about connection with place. ‘It’s like a wild animal the Peak District, a beast that needs to be tamed’.

As every project is unique, we always start with an informal discussion to make sure that I am the right person to bring your film to life, and so I can get a strong idea of what it is you want. After our call I will put together a proposal for you, including the price of other creators (such as animators, illustrators and musicians) if we need them to do justice to your film.

Our films start at £1350, and £1700 for a 3 minute short film, going up to £5000 plus for a full bells and whistles with animation etc. five minute film.

We also offer brand photography and filmmaking packages, price available on request.

I’m delighted to have worked with clients including Tesco Ireland (Family Makes Us Better campaign), Getty Images, The National Trust, Go Ape!, Canopy & Stars, Booths, Ernest Journal, Henry Moore Institute, The Bronte Parsonage Museum, The Unthanks, Creative Countryside, Wood & Wire and the Yorkshire Soap Company to name but a few.
